After this, the next entry point for Himachal can be Chandigarh, here also you can reach with the help of all three mediums.
It is about 300 km (about 5 hours) via road from Delhi and easiest point to access Himachal is Chandigarh only.
So after reaching Chandigarh you can travel to Himachal via road which is the easiest option no matter where you go in himachal
There is not much rail network in Himachal but whatever available is heritage in itself.
And by the way, you will get to see airports in Himachal too, these are domestic airports in Shimla, Manali and Dharamshala, and most of the times you will get direct flight from Delhi and Chandigarh only and their names are
State is situated in the lap of Himalayas so the only and most frequent system for transportation is via road but helicopters can be used but its quite expansive.
In Himachal, there is an off-season from 5th January to 14th April and from 16th June to 19th December and during this time you will get a reduction of up to 70% in the tour cost, it may just be that you get a little price hike in long weekends or Diwali Dusshera week. It will not be much but from 15th April to 15th June and from 20th December to 5th January there is a season here and during this time there is a lot of hike in your hotel rates.
If it is sunny here during the day, then you will not need much warm clothes, but as soon as the sun goes, the temperature will decrease by a dam and whatever clothes you wear, it will take you only 1 km, so bring warm clothes with you. Because in the evening and night time the maximum temperature of Himachal Pradesh remains in minus .
We would suggest you to carry a light jacket or something of Sweater or Windshield type because if it rains here, the temperature decreases up to 10 to 15 degree Celsius and you can feel child and hilly places like Shimla and Manali temperature not go above 32 degree Celsius.

Chandigarh should be your first priority for coming to Himachal because you will easily get train or flight to reach here, but if it is not possible to reach Chandigarh then you can also do it from Delhi, but your road journey will increase slightly.
If you are coming in summer then book a hotel wherever you get a good deal, just keep in mind that the hotel should not be far away from your main city town because it is possible that your cab fare will increase if the hotel be too far
Otherwise, if you are coming in winter, then check the weather conditions once, if the weather is bad then try
Your hotel in Shimla should be towards Shoghi, this place is 10 km before the town in Shimla if you are coming from Chandigarh.
Book your hotel in Manali 15 km before Manali, near Patlikuhal from Main Manali Town
And Banikhet in Dalhousie or before that which is about 10 km before Dalhousie.
You should do this so that if there is a heavy snowfall by chance, then you do not have to spend your night in the car, because in such a situation many times it happens that these destinations, which I have told you, they increase their rates completely. And there is no availability here, and if the weather is fine, book your property anywhere near the town, just keep in mind that your property should be near the highway and before the main destinations.
It depends on your preference if you like to travel at night then you can use Volvo and if you are only 2 people and your budget is also low but if you are 3 or more then the price of your Volvo and personal cab will be the same.
No, we will not recommend you like this because being a hilly state, the nights here become deserted, if any kind of emergency occurs, neither you will find any hotel nearby, nor any big city, the journey to the mountains would have been a bit hectic. Yes, you will need proper rest to travel well.
